Secret and Clues

  • The Red Portal in the The Tomb of Dhali Soliman connects to X over the Dry Lands of Evermaw
  • The Dry Lands of Evermaw is confused with the Eleven Hells, since it is an afterlife of ghouls and vampires, cannibals and gluttons. A road like a lolling tongue sprawls through a waterless desert of blood dust, passing towers that sprout like crooked white teeth, until it’s swallowed by the gulletlike sinkhole that houses the city of Vulture’s Beyond, osseous capital of the Hunger God Vardesain, as well as the Eternal Palace of the dry undead lord Mot and the Crystal Necropolis of the guardian god Anu-Akma.
  • Here ziggurats flow with the blood of daily sacrifices, liches study new necromancies of flesh and bone, and the cooks claim they can skin and butcher anything, from ghosts to gods.
  • A demon known as Therrys Ironclaw, a succubus of Mot, seduced Dhali Soliman into believing that the Red Portal would open to the realm of the wilds where Bastet’s true form resided – always hunting. Instead, he was lured into Evermaw and doomed to eternal torment from her ‣ .
  • Angatra are abandoned spirits of entombed violators of ancient tribal rituals animated into resin-covered mummies.
  • The former capital of the Kingdom of Luria, Tes-Luria fell into collapse centuries ago. After the fall, the tombs of the richest godlings of Nuria Natal remained, guarded by mummified sphinxes, stone golems and undead gnoll warriors, but few of their faithful visited the site.
  • Some years ago a cult of catfolk and gnolls, calling itself the Sisterhood of the Feral Scratch, who worship Bastet’s darker aspects of ferocity and lust, took root at the location.
  • The cult’s priestess was killed, and many of her followers were chased from the still-unfinished Grand Fane. The new priestess, Mau-tet Tivali (CN female nkosi pridelord, Tome of Beasts, p. 308), renamed the cult the Slinking Sisterhood of the Untamed.
  • The voice was a lie, it came from Mot – God of Eternal Death, Lord of the Undead, the Death of Fire, Black Emperor of the Silent Land of Mirey, Prince of Necromancers, and High Potentate
